Jennifer Johns (Co-Founder/Producer, WE-R-BAA) is the Artistic Director and Founder of Broadway Artists Alliance of NYC - a premier musical theatre training program for young pre-professional performers that she launched in 2005. She is a Broadway, Off-Broadway, West End, and Regional Theatre Co-Producer whose current and upcoming projects include Broadway’s The Lost Boys (Open Spring 2026), London’s The Hunger Games: On Stage and Kinky Boots and recent Broadway productions such as Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club,
The Hills of California, and Once Upon a One More Time.
She is thrilled to be joining the producing team of the 50th Anniversary Broadway production of Annie, the show that started her passion for Musical Theatre and young professional performing career … leading her to do what she does today! Joining her on the WERBAA producing team, is long time dear friend and colleague, Kristi Coombs (Annie- 1st and 2nd National Tours). Their hope is to see that same passion ignited in the thousands of young people and their families who will experience this iconic productions return to Broadway! (Broadway- Fall 2027)
She is also currently a Lead Producer on Tony Award Winning Director, John Doyle’s The Secret Garden Revival, recently in production at The York Theatre Royal, and slated for a near future UK commercial/ West End run!
In addition to her Broadway and West End Producing ventures, Jennifer is proud to serve on the Voice Faculty at Pace University, is a frequent Guest Master Class Instructor, BFA Senior Showcase Producer, and the owner of a thriving private vocal and career coaching studio in NYC. A former child - and later adult - performer, she founded BAA to bring her lifelong passions for training, mentorship, and artistry to the next generation.
As a Producer and Co-Founder of We R Broadway Artists Alliance, Jennifer champions opportunities for women creatives and rising TheatreMakers on both sides of the footlights. She is thrilled to be we working alongside long-time friends and colleagues on this shared mission, as well as all the inspiring women and families of young artists on the WE-R-BAA team. Jennifer also an accomplished Regional Theatre Director and Co-Producer and has served on multiple nonprofit theatre Boards of Directors.
Jennifer is proud to see her students shine on Broadway, National Tours, recordings, and film/TV, as well as being accepted into top university programs and signed by leading agencies in NYC and LA. Past students/alumni include Ariana Grande, Renée Rapp, and numerous performers with Broadway and National/International Tour credits.
A proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, AGVA, and NATS, Jennifer holds an Masters of Music in Musical Theatre (Vocal Performance) and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University. She has served on the adjunct voice faculties of NYU, University of the Arts, and currently Pace University, teaching private voice, musicianship, senior seminar/business skills, and Musical Theatre History. As a voice teacher/technician, she specializes in Healthy Belt Technique and vocal health for the young singer.
BAA proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2025. Jennifer is endlessly inspired by the next generation of performers and TheatreMakers, and through her producing work with WE-R-BAA, she remains committed to uplifting young artists and centering female-forward stories. She believes deeply in empowering rising voices to connect, create, and build community through the arts.
